How Do I Use The Ricoh Theta S, SC or V Camera?

Turn the camera on by pressing the very top button, enable the Wi-Fi connection by pressing the middle button and establish the connection between your device and the camera through Wi-Fi and the Ricoh Theta app, as per the tutorial video below:

When taking panoramic photos that you intend to use to create a virtual tour, it is a great idea to get the best shots possible using your 360 camera. If you have chosen to use the Ricoh Theta camera then there are some simple settings that will help you get the most out of your camera.

To begin, you will need to connect your phone or tablet to the camera’s Wi-Fi so that you can use the Ricoh Theta app to control it. You connect to this in the same way that you would with any other wireless network. The default password is the numerical part of your camera’s serial number.

Now that you're connected, you can adjust various settings via the Ricoh Theta app before you take your shots.

You can adjust brightness using the brightness slider within the Ricoh Theta app, so that on a cloudy or dull day you can slide this one or two notches to the right so that your pictures are nice and bright. In outdoor or naturally bright conditions, you can take advantage of the Ricoh Theta camera’s high definition HDR settings to create high-quality images. Otherwise in less well-lit conditions, you can use the noise reduction setting to remove any graininess that may appear in the photo.

If you wish to create your virtual tour whilst you are still at the location, then it's a great idea to switch the “Post View” setting on. This will set the camera to automatically copy your photos directly to your phone or tablet. This way you are left wire-free and able to copy your photos to your mobile device before uploading them to our platform and creating your virtual tour.

Once you are happy with your settings, all you need to do to take the actual photo is tap the shoot button. Once you do this, the camera will take approximately two seconds to take the photo and then a further 10-15 seconds to automatically stitch the panorama together, and then copy it to your mobile device if you have enabled this option.
